NEXT CONCERT

spring concert
Sat 16 may 3pm

We are delighted to be taking part in the Centenary Celebrations of St Chad's church, on Campleshon Road in York. This is an afternoon concert and we are raising money for the Richard Shephard Music Foundation - an organisation close to our hearts.

Following the death of local composer Dr Richard Shephard in 2021, the Foundation was established with the mission of ‘bringing the experience and enjoyment of music to children and young people in Yorkshire and beyond’.  We are delighted to say that young people involved with the Foundation will be joining us to sing in the concert.

The programme will be packed full of choral favourites such as the Hallelujah Chorus and The Heavens are Telling.

Join us for an uplifting afternoon of joyful live music - and pay as much as you like!

about us

  • Paulinus Singers are a chamber choir based in Ripon, North Yorkshire, rehearsing at St John’s Church, Sharow.
  • The choir presents three or four concerts each year, often raising money for churches or charities.
  • We learn the music in advance and come together for five rehearsals before each concert.
  • The repertoire is very wide, ranging from the sixteenth century to the present day.

Thinking of joining us?

The members of the choir lead busy lives so we do not rehearse regularly each week. We learn the music in advance, and then come together for five rehearsals before each concert. Rehearsals are usually held on Tuesdays at St John’s Church, Sharow, near Ripon.

We have a friendly conductor, Shaun Turnbull, and we enjoy working together. The choir welcomes applications from singers of all voices, but we have to maintain balance between the parts and sometimes there is a waiting list. If you are a competent sight-singer, able to prepare music in advance and free on Tuesday evenings, please contact us.
